Editorial Policy
Editorial Mission
The Wellness Journal is an independent educational publication produced by Sensual Sanctuary Spa. Its purpose is to publish accurate, useful, evidence-informed guides on massage, wellness, recovery and self-care for readers across Southern Africa. Editorial content is created to inform and educate first; commercial relationships never dictate what we write or how we write it.
Independence and Commercial Relationships
Where an article recommends an external spa or service — for example a traditional day-spa treatment that Sensual Sanctuary does not offer — that recommendation is made on editorial merit and clearly identified within the article. We do not accept paid placements disguised as editorial content, and we do not publish sponsored articles without clear labelling.
Content Standards
Every article aims to be accurate, balanced and genuinely useful. We write in plain language, define technical terms, and avoid exaggerated claims about the benefits of any treatment. Where the evidence for a claim is limited or contested, we say so.
Sourcing
We draw on established clinical and wellness literature, recognised professional bodies and the practical experience of qualified therapists and reviewers. Where a specific source is important, it is referenced. General wellness claims are kept within the bounds of widely accepted practice.
Review Process
Articles are reviewed by a named expert reviewer before publication. The reviewer's name, role and relevant credentials appear on the article. Reviewers may update an article's clinical or technical accuracy; final editorial responsibility rests with The Wellness Journal.
Corrections
If we publish something that is incorrect or unclear, we correct it promptly and transparently. Material corrections update the article's 'Updated' date. Readers can report an error by contacting us through the Sensual Sanctuary Spa website.
Medical Disclaimer
The Wellness Journal publishes educational content only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Readers should consult a qualified healthcare provider for any medical concern.
For transparency about our relationship with recommended providers, see our disclosure on Crystal Waters Spa.
